Rev LR Colney, Chairman of the Restoration India Mission chairman who was on a mission for the kingdom of God while violence erupted against Christians in Orissa last Christmas had a meeting with the press today where he gave a report of the violence against Christians and called for help from the state.

Two girls die from fatal fall

Two girls sent by their parents to dispose wastes in a local dump site in Durtlang town fell off a cliff and died from their fall late yesterday evening, sources reported. According to sources, the two friends fell off a steep cliff used as a dump site by Durtlang town after they tried to grab their dustbin which fell off while they were dumping wasters.

Accident

Vanlalchhawni (46) w/o Ramfangzauva of Lunglei Bazar veng who worked as a laborer under the National Rural Employment Guaranteed Scheme in Lunglei met an accident while helping out in construction of road in Kikawn cemetery yesterday. She died after being crushed by a stack of bamboos at around 11:40 am.

Anti Narcotics squad under the Excise department seized one kg of Heroin from RX — 100 motorcycle bearing registration no. MZ — 01/ A 6828 on January 23 at 12:00 noon near the river side of Tuivai at New Vervek and arrested Lalthalawma (26) s/o Lalpianga and Lalchungnungi s/o Rohmang both Parbung, Manipur, the prime suspects.
